Real Madrid make formal complaint over La Liga refereeing

Real Madrid have lodged a complaint over the refereeing in their La Liga defeat to Espanyol, claiming the game had “a level of manipulation and adulteration which cannot be ignored”.

The European champions were beaten 1-0 by Espanyol on Saturday.

They remain top of La Liga having won 15 of their opening 22 fixtures.

Hansi Flick was also asked about Madrid’s behaviour and had a pretty classy response. He told reporters: “To be honest, I don’t want to talk about this. They did it like that, but that’s not our style, I wouldn’t do it. We don’t make excuses.”

To make matters worse, it was the same player who scored the winner for the Catalans at the RCDE Stadium, and the result had a massive impact on the league standings as it saw the แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ Merengues drop three critical points in the title race.

Atletico Madrid are only one point behind their city rivals, while FC Barcelona are four points off first.

The official statement also elaborated in detail on their appreciation towards the work done by referees and how their calls cannot be scrutinized so microscopically.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side had a ridiculous 77 per cent possession and 21 shots to Espanyol’s five, with the hosts committing 11 more fouls but only receiving two bookings.
