Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that young midfielder Ethan Nwaneri is still unable to share the first-team dressing room with the club, in line with Premier League rules designed to protect players under the age of 18.
Nwaneri is just 17 but has been making waves at Arsenal this season after being promoted to the first-team and helping to solve the problem on the right flank. Nwaneri
has started in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season, as well as impressed in the Carabao Cup and scored in all three competitions.
Another youngster, Miles Lewis-Skelly, has also made an impact for the Gunners this season, scoring his first goal in the 5-1 win over Manchester City.
Arteta believes the relationship between the two will benefit Nwaneri, who is currently unable to share the first-team dressing room.
The Premier League has rules that state that players must be 18 or over to share the first-team dressing room, designed to protect young players, meaning that underage players have to change elsewhere before joining the manager to listen to their talks before coming on to the pitch.
“When you see those two [Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly] walking together, talking, เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง you can see the connection and the chemistry,” Arteta said.
“I think that’s special for them because they’ve got another dressing room at the moment [at the training ground].
“Ethan can’t come into our dressing room, which is unbelievable. He’s got to use a different room even on game days. “
So to have someone that’s close to him and that he can trust, that he has confidence, that connection, I think that’s a blessing. They’re very lucky to have each other.”
